2.10.11

i've spent the last week getting settled and sewing in my new studio. the neighbors are very sweet, and there are a few new businesses going in across from us which immediately created camaraderie. i thought it time to give a tour. as you can probably gather from the photo above, we are literally in a garage. a very special garage! the previous tenant was a theater set designer, and we found little paper cut-outs of props when we moved in. i heard the tenant before was a florist...
view from my work station. the shelves will eventually be packed with books and patterns, but for now ali's statues & trophies are enough.
our midas wall. it looks like liquid gold up close! and smells like brain damage. we've chosen details, like ali's brothel-y lamp to compliment the dark slate & gold theme.
wall of purses and select art. marcel dzama is one of our favorites...i had the camera on a timer and was watching pedestrians walk by. apologies for the worried expression. sometimes when i'm not sure what to wear, i throw all of my favorites together into one outfit: vintage biker jacket from ebay, thrifted skirt, clogs from UO on major sale...currently listening to led zeppelin II...
